The rainbow dress and party photos

Eliana's 2nd Birthday Party

It’s taken me a while to get to these photos, what with moving and settling into a new house and designing numerous crochet projects.

But, as they say: better late than never, right?

Eliana's 2nd Birthday Party

This is basically a photo post. I didn’t write down the pattern for Eliana’s birthday dress, nor am I planning too. Making a dress isn’t really all that difficult, all you need to do is measure the person you are making it for and then make it according to those measurements. With this dress I started in the middle using a ripple stitch pattern. I started with a foundationless row and worked in the round, in fact the entire dress is worked in the round. The stitch for the cream part is the Kroller stitch, which can be found in Robyn Chachula’s book Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopaedia. The idea behind the dress was to create a rainbow and something that looked like fluffy clouds around it. The back is closed with five vintage glass buttons, which look a bit like raindrops.

I used Elle’s Premier Cotton to make the dress and really enjoyed making it.

Anyway, enough from me, enjoy the photos.
